Easter in the Moravian Wallachia
Wallachian Easter in the Little Wooden Town of the Rožnov open-air museum will present Easter and spring traditions practiced by folklore ensembles as well as Easter carolling, Easter eggs (kraslice), birch twig whisks and ratchets. During the weekend you can experience an Easter fair with demonstrations of handicraft: a broad selection of Easter eggs, Easter sticks (tatar), ratchets (rapáč), whistles, Easter-themed pottery and foods for fasting as well as festive days. Dulcimer bands from Rožnov will be playing throughout the day to help keep up the good mood (called šmigrust). On Easter Monday the open-air museum will turn into a scene of joyful celebration, also underscored by dulcimer music.
